“You do not get to be my keeper. You got that? I can handle myself without your fucking help.” I smirk. She’s hot when she’s mad. “Knock that smirk off your face,” I say to him but he keeps letting it shine and it’s making it hard to be pissed.
“How about you knock it off?”
“Not on your life after last night. It’s pretty obvious that I’m some damn game with you, and just so you know, I’m not a prize to be won.”
“You think it’s a game?”
“What else do you call it? You just walked away last night.”
“Maybe I did that to save both of us.” A look of confusion crosses her face. “We both can’t be in charge here and I can promise you that you don’t want what’s in front of you.”
“How do you know?”
“Because no one does. I’m a Drake.” As I reach for the door knob, she takes a step forward, looking me in the eyes.
“Maybe I’ve always wanted a Drake.”
“Landry, we all want what we can’t have,” I say as I start to turn the knob and walk out, when the office door slings open and Davis is standing there white as a ghost.

Casey Peeler grew up in North Carolina and still lives there with her husband and daughter.
Growing up Casey wasn't an avid reader or writer, but after reading Their Eyes Were Watching God by Zora Neal Hurston during her senior year of high school, and multiple Nicholas Sparks' novels, she found a hidden love and appreciation for reading. That love ignited the passion for writing several years later, and her writing style combines real life scenarios with morals and values teenagers need in their daily lives.
When Casey isn't writing, you can find her near a body of water listening to country music with a cold beverage and a great book.
