“If you keep doing that,” Ethan said through clenched teeth, “I’m going to come in your hand.  I don’t really want to do that just yet.”
“Hmm…” I smiled slyly up at him.  “Maybe later.”
“You are going to take me over the edge, aren’t you?” Ethan murmured.  He made quick work of my buttons and managed to hook both my jeans and panties at the same time, drawing them slowly down my legs to the floor.  I stepped out of them, and he walked towards me, pushing me backwards until the backs of my knees hit the edge of the bed.  I lay back, and he crawled over me, seeking my mouth with his.
Ethan kissed over my chin, down my neck, and between the valley of my breasts.  He glanced up at me and smiled again before tilting his head to one side and rolling one of my nipples around with his tongue.  I moaned and arched my back as he took it fully into his mouth and sucked and licked at my nipple.  He reached for the other one and rolled it between two fingers for a minute, then switched and sucked on that nipple as well.  I felt his hand run over my breast, then drop lower across my stomach.
My thighs tensed, and I tried to keep my hips from bucking as he moved south, running his fingers below my belly button and then around to the side, not touching me where I wanted him.  I moaned again but this time in protest.  Ethan chuckled and traced small circles on my inner thigh before he moved back up again.
He slid his fingers down between my legs, running along the outside of my labia and then finding entrance to the folds of flesh covering my core.  He teased me with the tip of his finger over my entrance, gathering the moisture there and sliding it upwards, around my clitoris.
“Ethan…oh, yes…”
“You like that?” he whispered with his lips still hovering over my nipple.  He dipped down between my legs, then to the top once more, circling that most sensitive spot again before he moved back down.  “You’re so wet, Ashlyn.  Are you wet for me?”
“Yes…please…”
“Did you get wet just thinking about my cock?” he asked, and I inhaled sharply.  “Did you know how hard you were making me out there?  Running your hands over my tats?  Did you know what you were doing to me?  All I could think about was getting inside of you.  Is that what you wanted?  Did you want me so hard I couldn’t think straight?”

MORE ABOUT JUDGING BOOKS

The debutante path is a fairly straight track: who you are, who you associate with, and whose label you are wearing become priorities. They define you. They are the aspects by which you are judged.

Ashlyn’s world has been one of enlightenment and finesse, and now she is ready to take on the financial world at her father’s company just as he had always planned. Her future had been scripted long ago, but a chance meeting with a beautiful boy on a bicycle gives Ashlyn a new outlook on life.

Ethan is far too young, far too tattooed, far too pierced—just far too everything—to ever fit into her world. He has issues, too—major ones. Ashlyn knows he will never be accepted by her friends, let alone her overbearing father, but there is something about his live-in-the-moment outlook that keeps drawing her back into his arms.

Ashlyn must make a choice. Can she forgo the family dynasty and live life to the fullest with this fascinating but damaged young man?

“You know what I am…what I do.”  It’s a statement, not a question.  I don’t know the specifics of the job, but the image of Deklan holding a gun to my father’s head flashes through my mind.  I nod quickly, and Deklan’s eyes soften slightly.  “I’m not gonna hurt you.”
Deklan stares into my eyes with intensity, his pupils dilated.  I have no idea how to respond to his statement; I don’t even know what he means.  He won’t hurt me right this second?  He won’t hurt me when he fucks me?  Or does he actually mean he’s going to be merciful and wait to kill me in my sleep so I won’t feel anything?
“I know you’re scared,” he says.
“I’m not.”  I don’t even sound convincing to myself.
“I know you are,” he says again.  He releases my chin and sighs.  “You have every right to be scared.  This whole situation is…is…fucked up.”
I can’t argue with the sentiment.
“But I’m not going to hurt you.”
I nod though I’m still not sure I believe it.  Deklan looks back at me.
“Stand up,” he says as he takes my hand in his and pulls lightly.
I do as he asks, and he pulls me around until I’m standing in front of him.  With him sitting on the bed and me standing, we are just about at eye level.  He watches me as he reaches to his waistline and pulls off the plain white T-shirt, and I’m staring at his naked chest.
Every muscle is outlined.  He’s got an eight-pack for abs instead of the usual six.  His shoulders and arms are huge.  They look like they could crush a man without any effort at all.  There’s a long, thin scar near his shoulder.
I look back to his face, and his blue eyes have a softer look about them.  For the first time, I find myself really looking at him.  His cheekbones are high, his jaw strong, and his nose perfectly straight.  His dark hair is cut short, nearly military style, and contrasts sharply with his skin.  The calm displayed in his eyes has changed his appearance completely, and I feel some of my fear slip away.
I watch as he drops his gaze from my face to my body, feeling heat rise to my skin as he looks down to my feet and then back to my eyes.
“You’re a beautiful girl,” he says, and I glance away, embarrassed by his words.  Deklan reaches up and touches my shoulder before slowly tracing his fingers down my arm and gripping my hand until I look back at him.
He takes my hand and places it on his chest, right above his heart, never taking his eyes off mine.  I take in a long breath, wondering why my heart is beating so quickly.  He doesn’t speak.  He just holds my hand against his skin until I move my thumb back and forth, running it along the curve of his pectoral, and a shiver courses through my body.
He’s so warm.  I can’t believe how soft his skin is, considering the hard, external appearance he’s displayed before.  I can feel his heart beating under my palm, and my head swims.
Deklan reaches up to my hips and steadies me.  I didn’t even realize I was swaying.  He moves his hands up and down my sides, and I tense.
“Relax,” he says quietly.
“I don’t know what I’m supposed to do.”
“You can do whatever you want, as far as I’m concerned.”
“But…what am I supposed to do?”
He smiles gently.
“Touch me,” he says.
“Where?”
“Anywhere.”

Excerpt:  Win Some, Lose Some

“Just look at me,” she said quietly.  “I’m not going to hurt you.”
I forced my eyes in her direction as she put pressure against my jaw, turning me toward her.  Her eyes were so flawlessly brown, and her lashes were only slightly darker and completely devoid of any chemical compounds to make them look longer.  They didn’t need it.
So beautiful.
Unable to hold her gaze any longer, I lowered my eyes and looked to the right, focusing on the light green stripe that ran down the sleeve of her shirt.  Every muscle was still tensed, and I knew I would have to hit the heavy bag tonight.
“Why is it so hard?” she asked.
I had no idea what to say.  No one had ever asked me before.  No one had ever just come right out and asked like that.  How could I explain that sometimes it actually hurt to look people in the eye, like maybe they could see into me and see something awful?  Even worse, maybe I would see something inside of their souls, and I would find out something horrible about them.  What if reincarnation was real, and if I looked long enough, I would be able to see the past lives of the souls inside of people?
Maybe she’d figure out what a total freak I was for even thinking these things.
Her fingers stroked over the edge of my jaw, tickling it a little.  I tried to glance at her again, but I still couldn’t hold my gaze.  I looked down, and my eyes focused on her mouth as she wet her lips with her tongue.
“It just is,” I finally said.  It was probably the lamest answer in the world, but it was all I had.
“Close them, then,” she said.
“What?” I asked.  I looked at her lips again as she moved a little closer to me, so close, our faces were almost touching.
“Just close your eyes,” she said softly.
Not ready, I thought to myself, but the internal battle had already gone into overdrive.  I knew what she was thinking—I didn’t have to be a mind reader to understand as she moved our mouths closer together.  Part of me wanted to run screaming from the car, but there was another part, one deep inside the pit of my stomach, that wanted to know what it was like.
My eyelids drifted closed.
I felt the touch of her lips—warm and soft—against mine.
I couldn’t believe what was happening, but there was no way I was going to stop it.
I didn’t move.
I didn’t even breathe.
When I felt the touch of Mayra’s lips against mine, I just froze.  I sat there on the seat of the car with my eyes closed and just felt the pressure of her mouth on mine.  She pushed gently, then just a little harder.  My first and second kisses combined.  The pressure stopped briefly as I heard Mayra take a short breath and then resumed.
I still didn’t move.
My heart was pounding in my chest, harder than it had been when I was trying to ask her out.  My hands clenched a little against my legs as Mayra’s hand pushed against the side of my face.  Her touch was soft, and where I would have normally leaned against her palm, I still did not move at all.
The cool air around us brushed over my mouth as Mayra moved away and sat back on her heels.  Parting my eyelids, I focused on her knees beside me, my body still turned away from hers.  With my gaze locked on her knees, I ran my tongue over my lips.  They tasted different than I was used to, but it was okay.  It was better than okay.
It was good.
Really good.

Excerpt: Specimen

“That’s why I can’t stop thinking about fucking you.”
Her eyes widen, and she quickly looks away from me.  She stands and starts to pull her hand away, but I push myself off the bed and grasp her arm before she can go anywhere.  Our bodies touch, and I reach one arm around her back and pull her tightly against me.
I cup her face with my hand and run my thumb across her lips.  Her scent is all over me now, and I want to experience her with my tongue.  Would her taste resemble her scent or complement it?  I have to know.
Pulling her closer, I press my open mouth to hers.  Her body stills, and she grips my shoulder with one hand as the other presses against my chest.  Her mouth is warm.  I can feel her breath as my tongue slides inside.  Her taste is indefinable, smooth like sweet liquor I can’t recall ever tasting.
There is a shift inside of her.  It can’t be seen or heard, but I can smell it and taste it.  The smell of her skin becomes darker, thicker.  I feel her flex her fingers on my shoulder as she tilts her head to allow me to deepen the kiss.
How would her scent change if I were inside of her?  What sounds would she make when she comes?  Would she muffle her cries or be loud enough for all those watching us to hear?  How would it feel to come inside of her?  What sounds would I make?
I don’t even know if I’m a virgin.
Reaching behind her, I shove whatever is on the side table to the floor, lift Riley up, and set her down on the edge.  I grip her hips and pull her against my stomach.  The table is too high.  I can’t fuck her from this angle.  I break the kiss, lift her effortlessly, turn, and drop her ass to the edge of the bed.
“Sten, stop!”
I freeze my actions.  My entire body tightens, and my dick throbs in my shorts.
It’s too much.  I need this.  I need her.
I don’t move.
“You have to let go of me.”
I squeeze my eyes shut and withdraw my hands only enough to release her.  I keep them close enough to still feel the heat from her body and detect the shift of air when she moves.  She uses her hands to push herself backward on the bed, away from me.
The muscles in my legs shake.  I’m so wound up, and I can’t let it go.  The tension becomes painful and the need for release so prevalent, I can no longer think.  I grip the edge of the bed until my knuckles turn white.  As soon as she pulls her legs back and pushes herself off the edge of the bed, on the side opposite me, I grab the bed and throw it, smashing it into the mirror.
I glare at my reflection, and the strange dark eyes glare back at me.  The unfamiliar lips are curled up in a snarl, and the unkempt beard creates a frightening image.  Everything about the man looking back at me is alien.
Didn’t I just shave last night?

Book Summary & Purchase link

I awaken in a laboratory.
I don’t know who I am.
I’m inexplicably drawn to the doctor who cares for me.  She tells me I’ve been altered, that I’m stronger and faster, that I’ll be a key component in a war between corporations.  She says I volunteered for this.  She says I volunteered to be transformed, but I have no way of knowing if what she says is true.
Something isn’t right.  My memories have been taken, wiped clean, but dreams begin to slip into my conscious mind.  I can’t let anyone know when that happens, or they’ll remove my memories again.  Somewhere inside of me, I know I need to remember something important.
I’m fighting a war I don’t understand, and the one woman I rely on can’t be trusted.

Suddenly, my body goes rigid.  I can’t move at all, but I can feel a surge through my entire system.  I can see it, taste it, smell it.  My heart forces blood through my veins, warming my insides.  As the blood flows, the muscles in my legs, arms, and chest flex.
“Sten?  Are you all right?”
I try to focus on her face, but my vision is blurred.
“Hold on, Sten.  You just need to ride it out.”
“What…”  I can’t utter another word.  My throat seizes up, and for a second, I am unable to take a breath.
Riley’s palm touches my face as she presses a sensor to my temple.  My arm jerks, and I grasp her hand.  I press it to my chest.
“Relax.  Focus on your breath.”
“I can’t!”
She takes my free hand in hers and holds it to her body, right over her heart.
“Focus on me, then,” she says.  “Feel my heartbeat.”
My fingers twitch.  I can feel the steady beat in each fingertip.  Closing my eyes, I count the beats.  One hundred.  Two hundred.  Three hundred.
Minutes pass.  I keep counting.  Eventually, my body begins to adjust and my muscles relax.  I become aware of not just her heartbeat, but of how close my hand is to her breast.  My dick strains in my shorts.
I reach out with my legs, wrapping them around her waist and bringing her body toward my crotch.  Releasing her hand, I reach up and grab the back of her head and use the other hand to push the collar of the lab coat out of the way.  The blue of her blouse contrasts with her skin.  It’s beautiful, enticing.
With one finger, I trace the edge of her collar, brushing over her skin.  I can feel her heart beat under my fingertip, and I want to taste the spot where I’ve touched her.  I look back to her eyes.  She’s staring at my lips.
I bring us together, pressing my mouth to hers gently at first but then with more vigor.  I can taste mint on her breath as my tongue slides over hers.  I thread my fingers through her hair and tighten my thighs around her waist, holding her close to me.  I trail my finger farther down her collar and spread my hand to cup her breast.
She pulls back, breaking the kiss.
“Sten, you’ll have to stop that now.”
“I don’t want to.”
“I know.”  She touches the side of my face, running her hand over my rough cheek.
“I want you.  I need you.”  I don’t understand why I’m explaining myself.  It’s clear to me from her scent that she wants this too, but she keeps pushing me away.  She denies me as she denies herself.
Why?
